• Identify patient as ERAS protocol

• Hand Off

  • • Confirm with CRNA ALL medications given intra-op for safety precautions and to ensure no double dosing occurs

• NPO

  • • For at least 6 hours

    • 30 – 90 cc incrementally

• IVF

  • • Decrease when first tolerating PO & BP stable

• IV opioids

  • • Per PACU orders (pt NPO)

    • ***Ensure appropriate medication given for patient's current pain score (take "Patient's Stated Pain Goal" into account too). ERAS Goal is to limit opioids***

• PONV

  • • No standing order for Phenergan / avoid Phenergan

    • Consider another 8mg of Zofran IV

****If patient is being held in PACU longer due to no bed placement available, you will need to release the floor orders and begin accordingly***

PACU

(For patients going home same day like sleeves or band removals)

• Identify patient as ERAS protocol

• NPO

  • • Except ice chips – max 30 ml/hr

• IVF

  • • Decrease when first tolerating PO & BP stable

• IV opioids

  • • Per PACU orders

    • Oxycodone elixir 10 mg PRN (5 mg for age >65)

    • ***Ensure appropriate medication given for patient's current pain score (take "Patient's Stated Pain Goal" into account too). ERAS Goal is to limit opioids***

• PONV

  • • Zofran 4mg IV PRN
