The Hays Dance Department is made up of over 150 students in 6th, 7th, & 8th grades.

Any student who is interested in dance may sign up! We have five Dance 1 courses, and 1 Dance Team course (Sapphires). To try out for Dance Team, you must be a current 6th or 7th grader who will be returning to Hays Middle School. We hold Sapphires tryouts in the spring for the following school year.

In Dance 1 we have two formal shows, one in the fall and one in the spring.

Sapphires perform at several events throughout the year including but not limited to: pep rallies, football games, Rockette events, competition, spring show, and more.

All students learn various styles throughout the year such as ballet, jazz, contemporary, hip hop, musical theatre, cultural dance, and more!
