The Visual Arts program at Hays Middle School is made up of over 200 students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grades.

The courses available are:

*  6th grade Art—one semester long

*  Art I (7th graders) one semester long

*  Art I  (7th graders) ALL Year Long class (no application needed)

*  8th grade Art II—one semester class

*  8th grade ALL Year Long class (requires an application and students are required to participate in JRVase (which is the UIL version of art competition).  This class also goes on a field trip each year!)

Many local artists are invited to visit the Hays Visual Arts program throughout the year.  These artists show us their specialty, and students will learn how art can become a career, and will also have opportunities to learn new and different types of art.

Hays Visual Arts also has an annual NEON GLOW SHOW in the fall semester, and an End-Of-Year Art Show at Rockhill High School in the spring semester where art is displayed from all the feeder schools.

Both of these art shows have interactive art, which creates a full immersive experience.
