Code + Overview

Code + is a concept for summer time student enrichment. Through the offerings students, in grades 1-5, and 6-8, will develop coding concepts through tactile activities, games and programs that will construct a foundation in which they build their age appropriate coding skills.

We're keeping our approach fresh and opening new avenues and activities so that previous and new campers will enjoy their experience!

Students will begin with more of the fundamental concepts and if students have a foundation walking into the classes they won't even realize they are reviewing the concepts because it will be too much fun!

Some sites we'll use include Scratch, Twinkl, Code.org and Tinkercad. Our growth is fluid and so will be the opportunities, so that doesn't limit us to these platforms. For more experienced students we'll incorporate Python.

For each week we sync another area of interest in which to embed coding concepts. We'll pair coding with "cooking," crafts, and physical activity. Find the perfect fit for your child, maybe there's not just one.

About Me

I'm a native Texan with a love of teaching. That love developed from the time I first helped my mother write names in the student text books through every Friday night attending football games where my father coached on the sidelines.

Being born in Frisco I chose to stay close to family and began my career there. Once we chose to raise my son in the Town of Prosper and after teaching in Frisco I knew I wanted to be a part of Prosper ISD. I began my PISD career as a Blue Hawk ... Go Hawks ... and now I'm a Wildcat ... Claws Out! I am proud to call Prosper my home!
