Meng-Hsuan Yu is a fourth-year Ph.D. student at the University of Maryland School of Social Work. Her research examines the well-being and outcomes of children and families in the child welfare system. She applies machine learning and other sophisticated analyses to study child maltreatment screening, substantiation, placement trajectories, permanency, and re-entry outcomes. Her goal is to advance evidence-based research that informs child welfare practice and policy.
