Ph.D. student, Boston University School of Social Work, USA
Jerry Kai-Chun Fu is a PhD student in Social Work at Boston University. His research focuses on sexual health, LGBTQ+ health, and HIV-related stigma and care. He is particularly interested in how structural stigma—exclusionary policies and laws that restrict access to resources—influences health outcomes among sexual and gender minorities, especially in relation to sexual education and access to sexual health care.
Before starting his doctoral training, Jerry worked as a licensed school social worker in Taiwan, where he designed and implemented innovative, gamified school-based sex education programs aimed at improving young people’s sexual health. He has also been involved in LGBTQ+ and HIV-related policy advocacy.
He looks forward to connecting with scholars and practitioners interested in sex education, LGBTQ+ health, sexual health, and social justice, and hopes to support students from Taiwan who are preparing to pursue their studies abroad.
