Important Details:
When: July 8-12
Where: Alonquin Provincial Park. We will meet on Wednesady July 8 at Mew Lake Campground
Cost: $275-$400 per person. This trip is running on a voluntary sliding scale program, all participants will receive the same experience regardless of payment tier selected.
This includes all meals, campsite fees, canoe rental and safety equipment. This does not include personal gear (which can be rented) or parking fees if you are bringing a vehicle.
What to Expect:
Wednesday: We will meet at Mew Lake Campground, get to know each other with some fun games and activities, get ready for our trip and finish the evening sitting around the campfire!
Thursday and Friday: Paddling Days. We will be travelling through scenic Algonquin Park.
Saturday: Rest Day! This is a day all about relaxation! No paddling required, sit and read a book, go swimming, play games or whatever else strikes your fancy.
Sunday: Paddle back to where we started. Go out for a celebratory meal! Optional afternoon hike in Algonquin or say your goodbyes and head home.
Our guide for this trip will be Mallory, the current BoldFire Director.
They are fully certified as a lifeguard (NL), Wilderness First Responder (WFR) and have experience leading canoe trips with a wide range of participants.
We will have first aid and safety gear with us at all times on this trip.

Do I need to have camping or canoe experience?
Not at all! This trip is designed to be fully accessible to beginner campers and canoe trippers.
How strenuous is this trip? Do I need to be physically fit?
This trip is a medium level trip. Expect to spend several hours in a canoe with short portages where we will be carrying our gear and canoes. This trip is suitable for beginners but expect to be tired at the end of the day! We will also have a complete rest day on this trip where there is no paddling required!
What equipment do I need to pack?
A complete packing list will be emailed out but expect to provide a personal sleeping bag, mat and clothing. We will provide all canoe and safety equipment, cooking equipment and tents. If you have a tent you would like to bring you are more than welcome to!
