Rachel Ward

I am an Associate Professor of Mathematics and member of the Institute for Computational Engineering and Sciences (ICES) at UT Austin. From 2017-2018, I was a visiting research scientist at Facebook AI Research in New York.

I am an applied mathematical analyst. I was trained in applied and computational harmonic analysis and approximation theory, and much of my research has been in compressive sensing theory. More recently, I am interested in statistical machine learning and optimization.

I am thankful for current funding from the NSF CAREER award, and AFOSR MURI award, "Verifiable, Control-Oriented Learning On The Fly."

My papers can be found on my google scholar page. For more information, please refer to my CV.

I am fortunate to be on the editorial board of: Applied Harmonic and Computational Analysis, Information and Inference, Mathematical Statistical and Learning, SIAM Multiscale Modeling and Simulation , and SIAM Journal on Mathematics of Data Science.

I am unfortunately unable to accept most invitations for talks and conferences at this time, especially overseas.

Students interested in working with me are encouraged to first take a look at my papers, and identify specific themes and problems they would like to explore.
