The Chicken Pasta Salad lunch on July 5th was very delicious. We gave away nearly all the meals and did not have to turn away anyone. As usual, our friends were very generous and the donations more than covered our costs. Thank you all very much.

Our next free meal will be on Sunday, July 26th, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM or until it’s all gone. The menu has not yet been determined. This will be on a drive through basis the same as the last six meals. We are also planning a special sale from our gift shop. It will be held on August 7, 8 and 9th from 9:00 AM until 3:00 PM in conjunction with the re-scheduled Great Oregon Coast Garage Sale. We have received some nice donations while we've been closed. We will permit up to eight persons at a time into the building and masks are required. We will also be providing some food on a to go basis only.

For those who don’t know our location you will find us at 655 Pothole Place in the Panther Creek area of Otis. Pothole place was previously known as Wayside Loop. Soon all the potholes will merge together and we will have a smooth road again.

We definitely cannot re-open for our regular breakfasts yet. Maybe with phase three, maybe not. I’ll certainly keep you informed and when we do re-open we'll celebrate somehow. I wouldn’t count on it being very soon however. Watch this space for details and, if you are on our email list you will be notified that way as well.

Thanks again to all the generous people who have donated to us. Your donations cash and merchandise are greatly appreciated.

The Panther Creek Senior and Community Center is located in beautiful foothills of the Coast Range. We are an IRS 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to serving the entire community, not only seniors. We offer activities designed to appeal to all people from children to seniors and we welcome everyone regardless of where they may live. We do not have membership and charge no dues. We are most well-known for the delicious, freshly cooked breakfasts served on the first Sunday of each month and the additional breakfasts and dinners served throughout the year. We are also designated as an emergency shelter in the event of a natural disaster or local disruption . We maintain a supply of emergency blankets and other basic supplies. Our facility is available to host private or community events. In addition, we maintain a gift shop offering unique, donated items at very low prices. See the list of our services below. Our board of directors are members of our local community who are volunteering their time and effort to provide a pleasant and enjoyable experience to everyone.

JuLY 5, 2020

As many of you are aware, we have received a grant of $6300 designated for use in upgrading our parking lot. The work has been completed and parking is now available on both sides of the building.

Next, we need to replace the flooring (2000 square feet of commercial grade material, removal of old floor, installation of new). The cost will be about $15,000. We are still soliciting donations to help pay for this. We also wish to upgrade the community center's interior lighting in the near future.

We also want to thank the Salmon River Garden Club for their donation of two butterfly bushes which have been planted at the bottom of the handicapped ramp. The improvement to the appearance of our facility is very important to us and we appreciate this enhancement very much.

We will continue to accept any donations for these projects. A special donation receptacle will be at our cashier’s table for all events. Funds received thusly will be deposited into a special account, set up for this specific purpose, and will not be used for anything else. If anyone wishes to donate anonymously they may do so by contacting any of our board members or sending an email. Donations do not necessarily have to be cash but may be in the form of goods that we can re-sell in our gift shop (Anything except furniture). All gift shop proceeds will also be applied to this improvement fund.

We are an IRS approved, non-profit (501(c)3) organization (#91-1830023) and your donations may be tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. If desired we will provide a receipt for donations.

If you are unable to donate anything that’s fine! You will continue to be welcome at all of our events. We appreciate and thank you for your generosity.
