I am a scholar of early modern literature and culture with areas of specialization in travel writing, cultural geography, and the histories of transport, cartography, and reading. My additional interests in the digital and public humanities have given rise to two grant-funded collaborative projects as well as the development of a new Digital and Public Humanities minor at Saint Mary's. As a member of an interdisciplinary humanities department, I teach seminars in the ancient world, medieval literature, the Renaissance and Reformation, and 17th- and 18th-century literature in addition to classes on humanities data, the digital and public humanities, memoir, and more. I also serve as the coordinator of the College's annual public lecture in the humanities.
