By Javohir Akramov | 1 May, 2020 * 2 minutes read2019 COVID-19 started his journey. The first cases of Coronavirus were detected in Wuhan, China. 2020 is the most tough year for the entire world. By now there are over 3.3 million people infected by Coronavirus. COVID-19 became the first modern pandemic. It affected everything, including education. All schools and colleges are closed. Students are at home. Most of them are studying online. So, how you can learn online during quarantine?
What I like most are online educational platforms. They are great! They are well-structured and scheduled. There are a variety of subjects and programs. I’d like to share my favorite ones.
Khan Academy is the place where you can find free online courses, lessons, and practice. It is a non-profit educational organization created by Salman Khan in 2008. The key advantages of Khan Academy is that they provide personalized learning, trusted content, and tools to empower teachers.
They provide lessons in different subjects such as math, science, engineering, computing, arts, humanities, economics, and finance. It also gives you help with Test preparations for SAT or GMAT.
The lessons are in short video format. There are a variety of tasks and tests after each chapter of the course. Another outstanding thing is the progress analytics. It gives you motivation to study when you get coins for the video you watched or the test you passed.
edX is even more exciting! It is the place of free online courses by Harvard, MIT, Stanford, and more. It is the place where they want to help you stay connected and move forward, together with them. It offers many courses, programs, and even degrees!
The lessons are on different subjects starting from math and architecture to philanthropy and public speaking At the end of the course you can get a verified certificate from edX (you have to pay for that).
The lessons are in video format. You can download transcripts. It allows you to take part in discussions with other students all over the world.
Finally, this website is for computer-geeks. You can learn to code at home, build projects, and earn certifications. Since 2014, over 40,000 freeCodeCamp.org graduates have gotten jobs at tech companies including Microsoft, Google, Apple, Amazon, and Spotify. You can be among them.
You will learn essential programming skills such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and more.
The lessons are short and informative. You study one topic. Then you can immediately practice and check your knowledge. Pass the task and go to the next level. It’s very interesting.
I hope you learned something new today. The next step that you should do is to enter one of the websites and start your online education. Joyful learning!
