By Javohir Akramov | 30 April, 2020 * 2 minutes readIn Autumn of 2015, a hilarious story happened with me. I was studying in 58 - school in Namangan at a time. It was an English language lesson. We were discussing famous figures in the world. We talked about Albert Einstein, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bill Gates, Charlie Chaplin, and... Steve Jobs.
I didn’t know much about him (obviously, I’ve read only one (!) fact about him). We were talking about him (we were talking about his deal with Porsche store). It seemed no one knew about him in my class. I thought I was the only one who knew about him and was so proud and wanted to show off. Then said to my teacher:
“I know him. He is a very famous actor!”
I felt good, but it wasn’t long. The teacher said he is not an actor; he is Co-founder of Apple. I met my hero in this way.
The book was first published on October 24, 2011, 19 days after his deaths. The book was written at the request of Jobs by Walter Isaacson, a former executive at CNN and TIME. It is not surprising why Jobs chose Isaacson. Walter Isaacson was the author of several best-seller books such as Albert Einstein and Benjamin Franklin.
Isaacson refused Steve’s request first. However, when Isaacson found out that Steve can die soon (because he was suffering from cancer), he immediately started at the book.
The book tells about the life of Steve Jobs from the moment he was born until his deaths. As the book is biographical, it narrates chronologically. The first chapter is called “Abandoned and Chosen”. Strange name, isn’t it? However, these words best describe the childhood of Steve Jobs. Abandoned and Chosen.
Next, the book tells about Steve in childhood. What were his hobbies, how he spent time with father and jokes at school. Then, maybe the most important meeting in the world, Steve meets another Steve, Steve Wozniak. From this moment, the whole universe changed. At this moment, grand things happened. After that, it tells about Reed College, a trip to India, zen-Buddhism, meditations, and hippie.
Then there was a new company, Apple Computers. The life of Steve changed for 180 degrees. He became older (at least; he thought like this) and made outstanding things.
Apple I, Apple II, Lisa, Macintosh, iMac, iPod, iPhone, and iPod - all of them are the dominant things that Steve Jobs gave to the world.
It makes you think. You won’t understand the true meaning of the book until you read it with deep understanding. It will teach you many things. There are lots of quotes from Steve Jobs that will give you motivation. So, be prepared to be amazed before you get this book to your hands and joyful reading!
