I experimented with various ways of creating a simplified image by making two versions and blending them together: one version would be mostly color, and the other mostly lines. In this particular case, in iColorama, I used a Water preset for the mostly color version, and Edges for the mostly lines version.
I started with my original photo.
First, we will make the image with the edges. In iColorama, I prepare the image using Style/Simplify. I simplify the image so that there is less change of getting spurious edges, in what comes next.
Now I did Style/Edges. I tried several different presets. Save, but do not apply.
Now, we will go back to the original photo and apply Style/Water preset 9.
In Effect/Blend, I blended the edges on top of the water image. I thought it looked better if the two images are slightly offset from each other. You may have to crop a bit afterward.
