Man on Floor

I painted over one of my sketches in Paintstorm, with a watercolor brush. Then in Metabrush I added texture to the image. Then in iColorama I did some blending, toning, and raising of the texture to complete the image.

I started with this sketch of mine, done with Tombo pen on paper. I photographed the page and and cleaned it up and brightened it in iColorama using Adjust/Levels and Style/Flow at low opacity.

I opened the image in Paintstorm Studio. I used the watercolor brush to paint color over the figure.

I used the paint bucket tool to fill a new layer with a light yellow color. I dragged the yellow layer to the bottom of the layer stack. Then on another new layer, I used the watercolor brush to paint a shadow on the ground. I moved this shadow layer to just above the yellow layer. I saved to my camera roll.

I opened the image in Metabrush and on a new layer I used Brushes/Artist1 to paint over the image.

On another new layer I painted with Brushes/Artist2.

On another new layer I used Brushes/Paint, and as secondary image I used a texture from iColorama. (While in Brushes/Paint, to choose the secondary image, touch the flower icon on the left edge of the screen and select an image from your camera roll.) I set opacity at less than 100% so you could see through the textured brush strokes. I used a square brush. In brush settings, I set spacing to its maximum value, I set position variance and rotation variance to their maximum values, and I left dynamics and extras at their default values.

This is the secondary image I used in the previous step.

On another new layer I painted with one of the Wet modes.

I rearranged the layers and adjusted the layer opacities. I saved to my camera roll.

I opened the image in iColorama, and I used Adjust/EQ to brighten the image.

I used Effect/Blend to blend the sketch on top of the image in Multiply mode at medium opacity so that the lines could be seen better, and then I used Effect/Raise to accentuate the texture.

As a final touch, I used Preset/border preset 7 at medium opacity.
