Frizz

I experimented with various ways of creating a simplified image by making two versions and blending them together: one version would be mostly color, and the other mostly lines. This image uses iColorama's ET-Flow to create the mostly lines image. I used the app Art Set Pro to paint a mostly color image. Then I blended these in iColorama, and warped her for a soulful expression.

I started with this photo from Pixabay, a source of copyright-free images. I like the downward cast of her face, her serious gaze, and her cascading hair.

In iColorama, I applied Style/Tensor 4, which gave the blocky look, and then used Style/ET-Flow. I like the "chunking" that Style/ET-Flow can give to hair.

I used the app Art Set Pro to paint over her face. While you can paint in iColorama, it is easier to get fine strokes in drawing apps like Art Set Pro and others.

In iColorama, I blended the ET-Flow version onto the painted version of the woman, at low opacity, to get more of the original facial features.

Starting from the first ET-Flow version, I applied Style/ET-Flow again to create this version..

I applied Style/Coherence to get these "Lines."

Using Effect/Blend, I blended the "lines" onto the blended Art Set version using one of the negative negative blend modes(Difference, Negation, Exclusion) and trying different slider settings, including the Gray and Lightness sliders under Set.

For finishing touches, I applied Style/Coherence at low opacity for smoothness, Effect/Sharpen 7 to slightly sharpen the image, Adjust/EQ preset 1 to even out the tones, and I warped it using Form/Warp to create a long, doleful expression.
