There are many opportunities for missionary service beyond the traditional full-time calling. As Karen Arnesen presented at the Stake Service Day, missions can vary according to the individual's abilities, time, and resources. There are needs in Church History, Humanitarian Aid, Education, Technology, Property Maintenance, Healthcare, and more. If you have a desire there is a place to serve. The church's missionary site, https://seniormissionary.churchofjesuschrist.org/srsite/ can help to narrow down possible mission service, and offers opportunities according to region, cost, length of service, need, language, and other considerations. Elder Hales in his April 2005 conference talk, "Couple Missionaries," motivates and give ideas for anyone at any age to start thinking about missionary service. He also states, "If you cannot serve because of serious extenuating circumstances, would you consider making a financial contribution to help those who can? The reasonable sacrifice of your means will not only bless other missionaries and those they serve; it will bless you and your family as well."
