Advocacy

From its inception, the League and its members have been advocates for conserving, protecting and enjoying our country’s incredible array of natural resources. Our active engagement coupled with a practical approach to problem solving has made a difference from town halls to the halls of Congress for more than 100 years. The Advocacy section of the National League's Web site provides the tools, information, and other resources you need to affect public policy — from the nation's capital to your home town. Check out the League's Advocacy page at http://www.iwla.org/take-action/congressweb#/.

Conservation Policy Priorities

Each year the League adopts conservation policy priorities for its members to engage in. In fact, the League is unique in that its members propose, vote on and adopt conservation policies that they believe in. This process takes place at the National Convention in July.

Check out the National's website for more information on the League's conservation policies and priorities .

Action Alerts

The Izaak Walton League periodically sends out Action Alerts to our supporters. Action Alerts give information regarding legislation that is moving through Congress. They provide an opportunity for League members and supporters to give direct feedback to their representatives. These constituent contacts are often the swaying factor in these important decisions. Go to www.iwla.org to sign up for Action Alerts.
