The Science Web Resource (SWR) is an extension of the Science Learning Center (SLC). The SLC is a space for students to review class materials such as models and slides, study, and do homework. In addition to this, students can get free tutoring from the faculty and staff of the Life and Physical Science Departments. Please see the SLC Schedule for specific times, as the times that professors and staff are available varies by subject and day. When you come to the SLC, be sure to sign in and out, as the two students who log the most hours win a prize at the end of the semester!
The SWR is a tool for students to access certain materials from the SLC as well as extra fun, informational, and interesting resources from across the web, curated by the staff of the science departments.
Available resources in the SLC include: computers for homework, rock and mineral kits, A&P models for all systems, microscope slides for all biology classes, and textbooks for all classes for use in the SLC.
Available resources on the SWR include: model slides, the SLC schedule, information about the tutors.
Look for peer tutors who will have signs above their computer or next to them to show which subjects they can help you in.
The computers in the SLC are connected to the Wepa printer found in the hall outside of the SLC. Two charging stations are available for phones and tablets.
