Isaiah 40:28-31 and John 20:30-31

Say your verse to an adult today. I was originally just going to have you say it when we come back, but I am going to have you say your verse by April 3rd. I will fill you in on how when I figure out how to make that work. :-)

Math-

  1. Make a pictograph

Using a ruler, piece of paper, and a pencil make your own pictograph

Start by drawing a large rectangle on your piece of paper. Use a ruler so your lines are straight. You need to have four rows in your rectangle going across so draw three lines in your rectangle going across. On the left side write these colors: on the first line write Yellow, on the second line write Green, on the third line write Orange and on the bottom write Pink.

Make at least 8 lines going up and down after the colors.

Title your pictograph -Jellybeans Mrs. Hill Ate Write this at the top of your rectangle.

Make a graph showing the number of jellybeans that Mrs. Hill ate. I ate 3 yellow jellybeans, 6 green jellybeans, 8 orange jellybeans, and 2 pink jellybeans. Your pictures in your graph can be a jellybean shape, a star, a smiley face, or whatever you would like.

Make sure you include a key. For example for each picture of a jellybean-=2 jellybeans.

Re watch the video from yesterday if you need to. It will show you how to make a pictograph.

Make sure your pictograph is neat and you can also use colors to make it colorful. Put your pictograph in your green folder.

Bible-

  1. We will begin our next Bible verse today. It is the next verse in your purple folder.

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18

I want you to recall our Bible lesson about Jairus and his daughter who had died before Jesus healed her. Remember when Jesus came to the house, there were many people out front wailing and crying for the little girl that had passed away. It was custom at that time, for families to hire mourners who would come and make quite the scene to let people know that someone had died. In these verses, Jesus tells us that we should not grieve like those who have no hope. We will see our Christian loved ones again after they die because we DO have hope. We will see them again in Heaven and someday Jesus will return to earth. What a glorious day that will be!

Today I want you to just focus on verse 13. We will spend a few days learning verse 13.

Because you are writing to an elderly stranger, your greeting can just be "Hello," or "Good Morning," etc. The body of your letter should be at least 4-5 sentences. Tell them a little about yourself. You can include information such as: your pets, hobbies, siblings, etc. These are just a few ideas. Also, include some encouraging words such as "I think you are special." or "You are loved." Make sure you have a closing and your signature at the end. You will not get a letter in return so please don't ask them to write back. This is to provide encouragement to someone during a difficult time. I will give these letters to Mrs. Sartain who is the president of the Senior Company here in Columbia. She will pass them out to seniors that she works with to provide some encouragement. Please have your letter completed by Thursday. Put these in your green folder when you are done.
