The Pre-Ship checklist, executed during the "Shipping Prep" step in Fixed and Mobile Installation processes, ensures a thorough review of all items before shipment, minimizing the risk of oversights. This step involves a meticulous inventory check and formal sign-offs to validate readiness, enhancing accountability and compliance documentation. By integrating the Pre-Ship checklist, organizations boost efficiency and reliability in installations, maintaining high standards and confidence in project precision. Mobile Pre Shipping QA
1. Make sure to refer to the two primary areas where equipment is requested:
a. Salesforce (location of the BOM - Build of Materials)
2. Complete the QA sheet based on the equipment requested on the KPI. Pay close attention to unit specifications, as wording may be similar between units. (Macro in MIP ticket)
3. Cross-reference the requested equipment with the BOM in Salesforce. The BOM can be found within the opportunity under the products tab. Any discrepancies must be promptly noted and communicated to production.
4. Conduct a physical inspection of all units, ensuring:
a. No significant blemishes around the unit
b. All screws and bolts are in place
c. All peripherals are included with the unit
d. All cameras have bases and housing with proper sealing
e. Sign off on the physical sheet to be included with shipping. QA sheet sign-off implies that physical inspection was completed.
5. Once all equipment has been verified, check the "verified" checkbox to highlight the line in green and inform production that the equipment is correct.
When signing off
In addition to verifying that the contents listed on the sheet match what is in the box, there are several other considerations:
Confirm that all peripherals are included with their respective devices, such as power cords, cables, and plugs.
Double-check for any missing screws, bases, seals, or caps.
Open any enclosures that may be holding equipment to save space and verify contents.
Ensure all brackets and straps and signs are included if requested.
