Did you realize that school started only a week ago? Do you still remember how you felt when you stepped on the PRISMS campus, perhaps for your first time ever? It feels like a lot of things have happened, even though orientation was just last week, so here is a quick overview of what happened during orientation last week to jog your memory and see how much fun you had!
PRISMS 2018 Orientation was filled with activities welcoming the new Freshmen and Sophomores into our community as well as bringing returning students together after the long summer break. On Tuesday, we enjoyed a session given by Madame Liu (with a great translation by Angel Xu!). Afterwards we got a feel for what we should expect throughout the coming year through information sessions and tours for the Freshmen. In the afternoon, students kicked back with intramural games-- egg toss and a name-guessing game. Wednesday was also jam-packed with activities. We had a lecture about academic integrity accompanied by Miss Hage and Dr. H accompanied by fun demonstrations put on by the students.

Mr. Kemp and Mr. Carpenter led the students through exercises intended to help us get to know each other better. Afterwards we played a friendly game of capture the flag, with the yellow and green teams playing against the red and blue teams. Both sides played so well that the game ended in a tie!

This all led up to the faculty vs students basketball game, where the teachers won 48 to 36.

Now that we’ve settled in, let's make this year great! Good luck PRISMS!
