Two weeks into the current school year, the new students have just gotten used to their high school life. With many student government organized activities, the freshmen have had an easy transition and aspire to be just as great as their upperclassmen in making PRISMS a better place.
In this year’s election, there were 11 candidates running: Aarav Jindal, Adi Patel, Ariv Bhaskar, Cynthia Yuan, Eidan Ho, Faraz Tamboli, Kevin Zheng, Melinda Zhao, Rafi Shang, Sophia Zhang, and Sudhamshu Ravva. The freshmen are filled with so much enthusiasm!
Unfortunately, due to the outbreak of COVID within the school, the election that was supposed to be held on September 26th and 27th had been postponed. The speeches were instead held through videos and the voting was held through a google form. The contestants that made it past the first round were Aarav Jindal, Cynthia Yuan, and Melinda Zhao. Good Job!
During the live Q&A session that proceeded as usual on October 5th, there were many great questions. From making decisions in conflicting situations to their plans for the future, all the contestants did very well.
But the final winner of this extremely tight election is… Cynthia!!! Cynthia plans to have weekly google forms to get a sense of understanding of the freshmen's life, from availability to interests and more. She also aims to hold many fun events that many freshmen are looking forward to. Congratulations to everyone that ran and we hope that Cynthia can have a smooth and fun time being our freshman representative!
