“What?” I was totally shocked as everything around me was changing.
Two hours ago, I went to the woods with my friends to explore an old house that had an ancient story associated with it. At first, we walked separately to find different rooms in the house. However, we found out that this house was much larger than what it looked like on the outside. This was a cursed house! At first, nobody was worried as we were still able to connect and talk to each other through our phones. What really shocked me was the shout of one of our friends: “Oh no! There is a monster in the basem---” His voice suddenly stopped. We started to worry if the monster would suddenly kill us all. Then, the house started to shake, rattle, and spin. It completely changed and the orders of the rooms made us confused. We needed to explore again. The house transformed several times which tragically led to all my friends being killed by the monster. Finally, I was the only one who remained alive.
After the final house transformation, I found out that I was in an old-styled room. There was a desk in front of me, and I sat there and started to check what was on it. The first thing I see was an old photo, which showed a happy family: An old man, his wife, two sons, and a granddaughter. At the back of the photo, there was a sentence which I believe was written by the little girl: “He likes apples.” On the table, there was also a notebook. In that notebook, I found out the truth of the haunted house. The old man was a biologist who was crazy about creating new creatures. He had a huge laboratory in his basement and created an octopus-like creature. Most of his collaborators, as well as his sons, thought he was mad and stopped all contact with him. However, his granddaughter liked the monster and always visited them. In an experimental disaster 15 years ago, the monster lost control. It stayed in the house and made the house “haunted”. However, it didn’t harm the old biologist and his granddaughter. It sent them safely out of the house. I suddenly remembered what one of my classmates told us: bring apples when going to that house. Most of us didn’t take this seriously, but I took some for a snack. Now I knew what I should do.
I opened the door and the laboratory appeared behind it. I found the monster in a tank where it belonged, and thew it an apple there. Suddenly, one of my friends was freed from the monster and came back alive. I kept doing this until all my friends were back and safe. And for the last apple, it safely sent us out of the house. Legend has it that to this day, the monster still waits silently, keeping an eye out for any visitors to pounce on...
