Once upon a time, there was a little girl. She loved the rain. But more than that, she loved her cat.
The little girl came out in the rain each day to greet a small meager kitten.
But one day…
The cat was gone.
“Mother, Mother!” she cried. “I can’t find Mr. Tibbles!”
“Have you checked the park, Maria?” Her mother answers quickly and then turns back towards the typewriter. Maria walks down the sidewalk to the park. She finds a gigantic hole stuffed with cotton candy. She finds cat fur leading a trail to the hole. “Zoinks, where have you gone this time, Mr. Tibbles” she exclaimed.
Squik!
Squeak!
Splush!
Plop!
Maria falls down on top of a rainbow-colored lollipop which lowers her down to a bridge made of tootsie rolls.
Maria gasps! A whole city was under the park with mustaches made out of Twix, and sombreros made out of sweet rolls. As she stumbles onto the street, everyone starts to stare at her. “What is wrong?” she asks. But they keep on staring at her. Flashback: she comes to school, everyone stares at her, she has candy in her hand. They all laugh.
She rushes into the alleyway. These people are just the same. It is dark and nobody's there for her. Maria starts to cry, but something touches her hand. It’s Mr. Tibbles! Maria wipes her tears off of her face. “Mr. Tibbles, I’ve been looking for you everywhere.” She sniffles and holds him in her hands. Maria follows Mr. Tibbles to leave with a smile.
