Recruiting: It's confusing. Thousands of athletes every year try to earn a roster spot at a collegiate institution. However, recruiting is not only confusing, but changing. The culture surrounding recruiting tells athletes they are less if they don't receive an offer to a power five (or power four now) school. This comes at the cost of these athletes ignoring the immense upside of that FCS, DII, DIII, and even Junior College and post grad years provide.
Athletes today are being told all the wrong things when it comes to recruiting. Being told to chase this division one dream and ignore the incredible upside of lower level programs. This pursuit of division one often leads athletes to attend weaker academic institutions. Athletes should not choose their college destination solely off football. If football is going to be apart of your journey, then you should include it your thought process, but it should not be the sole deciding factor. Academics, balance, and cost should all play a factor in your college decision.
This is why I created this website. I wanted to give athletes an opportunity to learn the recruiting process for the lower levels of college football. This website contains informational blurbs about every level of college football from FCS and below. The informational blurbs will hopefully provide athletes more information about the ins and outs of every level, the school-life balance, the school-sport balance, and a couple of conferences athletes can learn about and potentially be recruited by. There are also informational videos about certain aspects of football recruiting that are paramount to an athletes success in recruiting. There are also recruiting timelines to show athletes what timeline they should be on depending on what level they want to play at. There will also be email templates for athletes to get an idea on how to reach out to coaches.
Hope you enjoy this website and find it useful in your recruitment journey!
