Supporting gender and sexual diversity

UVic Pride is an organization for all people who are queer, queer-positive, gender-variant and/or intersex. We strive to meet the needs of people who self-identify as queer (including but not limited to people who identify as Two Spirit, bisexual, lesbian, gay, asexual, demisexual, aromantic, and pansexual, as well as people who do not identify with these labels); trans people; those who are questioning their sexuality or gender; those who are struggling with concerns related to intersexuality; and supportive partners, friends, family members, and allies.

We’re hiring three 2020-2021 work study positions (15.50/hour): Resource Coordinator, Project Coordinator, and Outreach Coordinator.

Resource Coordinator

  • Developing, through consultation, resources to meet the needs of queer and/or trans persons, and particularly the needs of trans women and transfeminine persons.

  • Propose new resources or initiatives to fulfill unmet needs.

  • Maintaining and updating the digital materials of our resources and initiatives.

Project Coordinator

  • support the initiatives of collective members including but not limited to event planning, administrative support, Maintaining and monitoring project plans, project schedules.

  • Documenting and following up on important actions and decisions from meetings

  • Undertaking project tasks as required

Outreach Coordinator

  • Support the management of social media, Discord, and other communication systems.

  • Develop strategies for engagement

  • Develop and maintain relationships with community groups, agencies, organizations and service providers with the purpose to support students.
