Welcome to my website! Here, you will find general information about me and my interests, which tend to fall under two general categories: 1) Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) research and treatment, and 2) blindness and accessibility. Have a question? Want to chat? Use my contact information and let's get in touch!
I was born in Flushing, New York with Leber Congenital Amaurosis (LCA), a genetic condition that affects the retina and causes blindness. While I do have some vision, it is significantly limited and varies greatly depending on the context. Although my disability has presented me with several unique challenges, it also has lead me to acquire specific talents and abilities that make me an excellent asset on any team. I am currently a T32 Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Traumatic Stress Studies at the National Center for PTSD (Behavioral Sciences Division) at Boston VA Healthcare System. Under the mentorship of Dr. Denise Sloan, I conduct research that examines the effectiveness of evidence-based treatments for PTSD.
Aside from work, I also have plenty of fun hobbies and interests! I play beep baseball, which is an adaptive sport for the blind. I have played beep baseball for 9 seasons with the Long Island Bombers. I also love playing video games, going on casual hikes, spending time with family and friends, and hanging out with my pets!
