Youth Sports

Youth Sports Schedules Here (Youth Sports Suspended - watch for updates)

With the Stay Safe MN plan in place, we are working to redevelop our PRB Community Ed programming. As this situation continues to evolve and updates change daily we try to adapt as new information becomes available. We are closely watching the guidelines and recommendations from the Governor's office, Minnesota Department of Health and the Department of Education. While some of our programs are temporarily postponed we have new and upcoming classes and activities that may be held with modifications. Decisions about holding in-person classes and activities at our school or off-site locations will follow the Governor’s, Superintendent’s and Community Education Director and the administrative team protocols. Please continue to monitor our site for the latest updates and new opportunities.

We are in unprecedented times and must consider the safety of our students and staff of all ages. Thank you for your commitment and continued support of PRB Community Ed.

If you have questions or concerns please contact Community Ed directly at 218-587-2080 or email

Pine River-Backus Youth Sports Mission is to teach youth the fundamentals of the game, along with skills, team play, good sportsmanship, and having fun. PRB Community Ed Youth Sports coaches follow our philosophy when coaching a PRB youth team.

  • We operate on an EQUAL PLAY TIME basis, regardless of skill level.

  • Skills will be taught to all players on the team, regardless of their level of play.

  • Players are to be taught all aspects of the game, both offense and defense.

  • PRB Youth Sports has a ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY toward unsportsmanlike behavior. Good Sportsmanship must be maintained by the coach, players, and parents. Arguing with game officials or other coaches/teams is unacceptable.

  • Youth Sports philosophy is about teaching the participants the fundamentals of the game and providing a positive and fun atmosphere to learn and play.
