Personalized Announcement Greeting

Personalize the course announcement on D2L by adding a code to display the student's name.

Here is what the personalized greeting looks like. The D2L Announcement will show each person's name individually ... instead of "Dear Students."

Create a New Announcement

Click on the down-arrow next to Announcements, then select “New Announcement Item.”

Edit an Existing Announcement

Click on the drop-down arrow next to title of the announcement, then select “Edit.”

In the Announcement Editor, add one or both of these codes, and click "Publish" at the bottom.

When the student sees the announcement, the code will be replaced by his or own name.
