Extend Course & Assignment End Dates
for Students with an "Incomplete" Grade
Step 1: Extend the Course End Date
Extend the Course End Date so students can have access to the course beyond the current default date.
Start in your course.
Click on Instructor Resources.
Click Edit Course.
Click Course Offering Information.
Scroll down to the “End Date," and change the End Date.
Allow enough additional time for students with “incompletes” to submit their work, view assignment feedback, and view their course grade.
Click “Save.”
Step 2: Add Special Access for Individual Students on Assignments and Exams
Adjust “End Dates” on Assignments and Exams so students with “incompletes” can submit material beyond the normal availability end date.
Go the Assignment or Exam, and click to Edit.
Select the Restrictions tab.
Scroll down to the “Special Access” section.
Select “Allow selected users special access…”
Click the box “Add Users to Special Access.”
In the page for “Special Access Properties," change the End Date.
Scroll down to the list of students in your class, select the student(s) with “incompletes,” and click “Add Special Access.”
One the main assignment or exam screen, click “Save and Close.”
