Fall SUN program: 9/29/25 - 12/11/25. No SUN classes on no school days. No SUN on early release days.
*SUN classes are held Monday - Thursday from 4pm - 5:45pm
*Snack: 4 - 4:15pm in cafeteria.
*SUN Classes: 4:15 - 5:15pm and 4:15 - 5:45pm (depending on length of class, listed below)
*SUN Spots - ChillZone and Open Gym: 5:15 - 5:45pm
*End of SUN and final class dismissal: 5:45pm -- Please pick students up at the West Entrance (big parking lot) by 5:45.
*SUN bus pick-up: 5:45pm.

FALL SUN CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
African Student Club: (Wednesdays, 4:15-5:15pm) Come connect with your peers, work on homework, do fun projects, and share culture in this IRCO affinity group. (with IRCO advocate, Anisa)
Anime Club: (Thursdays, 4:15-5:15pm) Hang out with pals and explore Japanese animations called anime! (with RHMS community agent, Ms. Adriana)
Art Studio: (Tuesdays, 4:15-5:15pm) Come explore the visual arts and learn to use a variety of media to create. We will work on our drawing skills, render images in paint, play with digital arts, and construct with everything from clay to cardboard! (with SUN instructor, Manda)
Basketball: (Mondays, 4:15-5:15pm) Come practice your favorite sport, learn the basics, and enjoy being part of a team as we build our basketball skills. This is an inclusive class for all from those who are just learning to play to those who have played for years. The skill-building class is from 4:15-5:15pm with an optional open gym from 5-5:45. Chess Club with Chess for Success: (Tuesdays and Thursdays, 4:15-5:45pm) Come challenge your friends, learn new strategies, compete in tournaments with the LEGENDARY RHMS Chess Team, and win prizes! (with Chess Coach Rob and Coach Anh)
Club ELL - Club de Inglés: (Mondays/Lunes, 4:15-5:15pm) ¡Ven a trabajar en tus habilidades del idioma inglés, pasa tiempo con amigos y haz conexiones con tutores útiles de PRSG! (with volunteer tutors from PRSG)
Conexiones: ( Mondays/Lunes, 4:15-5:15pm) Come meet Irina, our Youth Engagement Specialist from Latino Network to enjoy gaining leadership skills, develop cultural identity, explore careers, go on field trips, and work as a team! (with Irina from Latino Network)
Cooking: (Tuesdays, 4:15-5:45pm) Develop the skills to prepare fun and healthy dishes! From knife skills to seasoning, and from appetizers to desserts – this class will teach you how to turn easy-to-find ingredients into delicious recipes you’ll be able to prepare for yourself (and others) for the rest of your life! This class may not be able to accommodate every food allergy or eating lifestyle – please talk with Lindsay if you have questions/concerns. (with SUN instructors, Michelle & Sage)
Creative Leadership & Conflict Resolution: (Wednesdays, 4:15-5:15) Join Victor to explore feeling like and being a leader. This club will challenge students to engage in conversations and activities to develop identity and goals, and will incentivize students to achieve behaviorally, organizationally, and academically.
Crochet Monday: (Mondays, 4:15-5:15) Bring your crochet skills to share with others and explore this increasingly popular fiber art. (with SUN instructor, Sage)
Dungeons & Dragons: (Mondays = intermediate OR Thursdays = beginner, 4:15-5:45pm) In this class you'll play Dungeons & Dragons 5th edition. Each student will choose from an assortment of pre-generated character templates. You'll be able to choose your fictional characters' names, motivations and personality. Experience adventure, mystery and fun in the newest addition of the classic role-playing game! Intermediate D&D on Tuesdays is for students who have previously played at RHMS SUN while Thursdays is for new RHMS SUN D&D players. (with SUN instructor, Manda)
Eco Club: (Wednesdays, 4:15-5:15pm) Alongside working in the RHMS school garden, Eco Club aims to build a youth-led movement to combat climate change from the ground up! Learn principles of regenerative gardening and how climate justice relates to social justice issues in our world. Help build awareness, community, and empowerment as a means to fight the climate crisis. (with RHMS teacher, Ms. Alabarca, and Jane Keating.)
Gamezone + Makerspace: (Thursdays, 4:15-5:15pm) Challenge your friends in Mario Party on the Switch, make jewelry and perler bead creations, be the one to yell Uno! and much more in this chill space. (with SUN instructors Michelle & Sage)
IRCO - INSPIRE & SYA for Vietnamese Students and Families: (In-School Program for Immigrant & Refugee Education & SUN Youth Advocacy) (Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:15-5:15pm) IRCO’s bilingual and bicultural staff work with young people and their families to better succeed in school by setting goals and following up with students, parents, and teachers regarding students’ academic progress and challenges. We offer one-on-one support, and group time twice a week focusing on math and literacy tutoring, as well as sports, arts, and other enrichment activities, including field trips. Students can join by referral -- please let us know if you have an interest in joining. (with IRCO advocates, Susan and Thang)
IRCO - Pacific Islander Club: (Tuesdays from 4:15-5:15pm) Celebrate your culture with other Roseway Heights Pacific Islander students and Malia from IRCO! We'll do fun projects, check in about academics, and build community. (with IRCO advocate, Malia)
Magic the Gathering: (Wednesdays, 4:15-5:45pm) Become a Planeswalker and traverse the multiverse in the original trading card game, Magic the Gathering. Learn how to build a deck, battle in duels and multiplayer, draft new cards for your collection, and discover some of the in-game lore and real-world history of the world’s most complex (but not complicated) game. All cards and supplies are provided. (with RHMS teacher, Teacher Travis)
MESA: (Wednesday, 4:15-5:15pm) MESA is an engineering and design program that focuses on creating solutions for issues that real people in our community face! Do you enjoy helping people? Designing things? Being creative? Being a communicator? Building things? Working with computers and other types of technology? Maybe learning some code? If you answered "yes" to any of those questions (not all of them...), then you may be perfect for MESA!
In MESA, you will invent something for a real person according to this year's theme: "Each One, Teach One" and use design, technology, and creativity to support our communities! Come design something that supports sharing culture, caring for others, supporting differences, food and wellness, gardening, preserving traditions, connecting people within their community, or something else that you decide is important! MESA also has field trips and additional family and career events. See Mrs. Pittock in Room 187 if you have any questions! (with RHMS teacher, Ms. Pittock)
Queer Book Club: (Thursdays, 4:15-5:15pm) Do you like to read queer books? Come hang out with Counselor Cam to meet other RHMS readers, select our group reads, and explore other fun book-related activities. (with RHMS counselor, Counselor Cam)
Skate Don’t Hate!: (Mondays and/or Wednesdays, 4:15-5:15pm) Roll up and join our inclusive skate club. We’ll learn to get comfortable on the board, try out tricks in our mini on-site skate park, and cheer each other on. All skateboards and helmets are provided during class, and students are encouraged to bring their own – roller skates and scooters welcome too! On rainy days we’ll explore the rich world of skate culture by watching skate videos, playing with tech decks, learning to build completes, and designing our own skate aesthetic through zines, stickers, buttons, and more. Stomp N Shake: (Mondays, 4:15-5:15pm) In the style of the McDaniel High School's Stomp & Shake Cheer Team, this class will learn classic cheers and routines from HBCUs (Historically Black Colleges & Universities). Come get coordinated, be part of an energetic group, enjoy rhythmic dances and chants, and develop skills that will help you celebrate your culture, your school, and yourself! Stop Motion Animation: (Wednesdays, 4:15-5:45) Learn the incredible art of telling stories through clay! In this class we will practice our sculpting skills, make sets, and write short scripts. We'll use photography to capture our clay as we adjust the scene bit by bit to bring it to life in short films. (with SUN instructor, Manda)
Street Soccer USA: (Wednesdays, 4:15-5:15pm) Come join us to play the most popular sport in the world! This is an inclusive soccer skills class for every athlete whether they’re just learning soccer or have been playing for years. We’ll work on dribbling, passing, scoring goals, and playing as a team. The skill-building class is from 4-5pm with an optional open gym from 5:15-5:45. (with Rob and Alex from Street Soccer USA)
SUN Sports Rotation: (Tuesdays, 4:15-5:15pm) Come try out your favorites and learn how to play new sports too. Whiffle ball! Flag Football! Badminton! This class is for all who love the game. The skill-building class is from 4:15-5:15pm with an optional open gym from 5:15-5:45. (with RHMS PE teacher, Coach Mask)
Volleyball (Thursdays, 4:15-5:15pm) Bump it, set it, spike it! Boost your skills and get in game time with friends at our SUN volleyball class! (with RHMS staff, Ms. Kimberly & Mariko)

CHILLZONE: If your class is over at 5:15pm, come do HW, chill with friends, play ping pong, boardgames, and videogames, and do rotating crafts (button making, melty beads, nail painting, jewelry making, and more).
OPEN GYM: After your 5:15pm class is over, head to the main gym for Open Gym. We’ll have a variety of sports equipment available and instructors ready to challenge you in Bump!
