Parachute Adventure - Watch this video and then build a parachute.
Here is a video of a 1st grade Teacher helping students build a better parachute. Can you modify your parachute design, based on what you learned from the video, to make a better parachute?
There are three variations of today's activities - do one, or all three! For each, you'll need Animal Activity Cards and the Animal Activity Video from OPEN PE.
30-Second Animal Jumps: We’re going to use the Animal Alphabet Cards to play a jumping game. Each card gives two animal choices. While the music plays for 30 seconds, jump in your personal space. Stay in your 6-foot personal bubble! When the music stops, pick another animal from the next card. It’s okay to change your mind during the 30 seconds and jump like the other animal.
Animal Charades: The object of this game is to silently act like an animal so that your classmates can guess what it is. Take turns guessing and acting like animals. If you need help thinking of an animal, use the Animal Alphabet Cards.
Animal Dance Party: I’m going to use the Animal Alphabet Cards to pick animals that will come to our dance party. You can use these cards to have dance parties in your home or in the gym. When I hold up a card, everyone will dance like the animal I’m holding. If I hold up 2 cards, you can pick which animal you want to be. Remember, stay inside your 6-foot bubble or somewhere where I can see you on the camera!
Remember we should try and eat lots of colorful veggies to ensure we are getting vitamins and minerals to fuel our minds and keep our bodies healthy.
We should try to eat 2 cups of veggies every day!
