Retell the Story*
Use the following story elements to retell the story:
Who are the main characters? How do you know?
What is the setting of the story or where does it take place?
What happens in the story? What problem/s do the main characters have? How do they solve those problems?
How does the story end?
*Use the text provided or choose your favorite read aloud. Retelling is an important comprehension still for students still learning to decode. Read Alouds also model fluent reading for students.
Balance and Breathe I: [LINK]
If you have a speed stack cup us it, otherwise you can use a different cup to help you practice mindful breathing.
Hold your hand out flat in front of you, parallel with the ground. Balance 1 cup in the palm of your hand. Take 5 equal breathes (inhale 4 count, exhale 4 count). As you breathe, focus on balancing the cup.

Jumping Jello: [LINK]
Make a circle with a jump rope (or a couple of shoelaces). The circle is a big bowl of fruity Jello! Jump into the bowl of fruity Jello and bounce 5 times before you jump out of the bowl.
Next, try to create new ways of jumping in the Jello.
Can you jump high and low? Soft and quiet? How many different ways can you jump?
One foot? Soft and quiet with one foot, high or low with one foot?
Now, every time you jump, say the name of a food that is good for you.
