Choose one character:
What are their positive traits? Do they have any negative traits?
Copy the graphic organizer on a piece of paper and use words and/or pictures to describe the character traits of the character you chose.
Writing
Find a notebook, composition book or paper and have your student write daily using one of the following prompts or about an experience they have had. You student may use lines to represent letters and words and that is ok. Have them include a picture with their story. There is no need to worry about spelling, punctuation or letter formation during this writing block.
Your goal is to let your student be a story teller.

My favorite animal is....., because.....

If you are able to help prepare a meal that has fruit or vegetables in it, look at the colors of that you see. Is there a variety of colors? Then if you are able to, look for the seeds inside. If you have more than one, notice how the seeds are the same and how they are different. Notice their size, color and shape.
Draw a picture of your favorite fruit and seeds.

Encourage Your Families to Eat Veggies as a Snack this week! They can use the following recipe for a fun and delicious veggie dip.
Chickpea Dip
Ingredients:
chickpeas (garbanzo beans) - 1 (15 ounce) can, drained and rinsed
garlic - 3 cloves
plain lowfat yogurt - 1/4 cup
lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
olive oil - 1 teaspoon
salt - 1/4 teaspoon
paprika - 1/8 teaspoon
ground black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
medium carrot - 1, cut into sticks
medium celery stalks - 2, cut into sticks
snap peas - 1/2 cup
Instructions:
1. Place the ingredients into a blender container and blend until smooth.
2. Serve immediately with fresh veggies like carrots, celery, and snap peas.
