Contact Leigh-Ashley Milne at <lapettengill@youthledjustice.org> Youth-Led Led Justice is a youth-led restorative justice diversion program that receives referrals for youth who have gotten in trouble with the law and/or their school. Youth volunteers serve as advocates and facilitators in restorative processes for youth referred to the Youth-Led Led Justice, helping to provide a restorative alternative that balances both support and accountability. During this volunteer training, volunteers share insights and expand their perspective on what justice can mean in their community. Students learn about restorative justice, the juvenile justice system, and the skills needed to facilitate and support their peers in a range of restorative processes we offer. Youth will be trained to lead the discussion during a Youth-Led Restorative Circle. Additionally, youth will be trained to act as advocates for participants of the restorative process. Youth will have the opportunity to practice Restorative Circles and restorative interviewing, with ample hands-on learning opportunities that will allow you to become more comfortable and confident in these roles. Youth-Led Led Justice is a confidential process, and volunteers are mandated to sign and adhere to an oath of confidentiality when supporting youth in restorative processes. *Priority will be given to students who are able to volunteer over the upcoming upcoming school year.
