Choose Kindness

Dear friends,

Today is Thursday, May 7th. The number of the day is 7.

I am looking forward to seeing you on our zoom class meeting! Bring a piece of paper and a pencil to our meeting, Ms. Maher will be teaching us how to draw a bird!

Today you will learn about a cardinal's adaptations and what makes it special.

Tomorrow there won't be any new lessons, but you can do anything you missed this week. Let me know if you need my help.

Let's have a thumbs-up Thursday!!

Love,

Ms. Thompson xoxo :)

Day 4: ADAPTATIONS and FUN FACTS

What makes this bird special

Writing

Listen to these videos to learn about what makes the cardinal special. See if you can listen for any adaptations that help the cardinal survive. Then write the last chapter of your cardinal book. Please share your writing on Seesaw or with a photo by text or email.

Reading

After listening to this story please go to epic! to read the books I have assigned to you.

***Please do 20 minutes of iRead today.***

Math

Your child should log in to our class math program for 20-30 minutes everyday.

If using an iPad use Safari

If using PC or Mac use Google Chrome

Click on I'm a Student

Type in the class code. It may already be entered for you as I tried to pre-fill students profiles. You will then be taken to a screen with students names, click on your child's name and type in the password. I made our class’ password 1234.

Once logged in, they are all set! They will take a short assessment (20-30 minutes) to modify the math to meet their needs and once that is complete they will be connected with their appropriate level within the program.

Practice your speed counting skills with this video and the game above. The math word for counting quickly is subitize, it is pronounced "soo-bi-tize".

Have fun!
