Remote Learning Guidelines
In a FULL REMOTE model, we will ask students to participate in a mix of synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences.
The following guidelines are in place for daily teaching and learning experiences in a full remote models:
Independent Reading-30 minutes
Literacy Work (may be integrated with Science & Social Studies)-60 minutes
Math Work-60 minutes
Assigned Rowe Special (Art, Music or PE)-times will vary
All students work at different paces so it's natural for assignments to take either shorter or longer times for your children to complete, along with different levels of need for adult support.
When assignments are taking too long or causing frustration for students, we recommend the following:
Take short breaks within provided timeframes
Break assignments into parts and have students complete them step by step
Switch to a new assignment and come back to the more challenging one later
When assignments are taking far shorter times than recommended and are fairly simple for students to complete OR your child completes all assignments and has more time, we recommend the following:
Revisit assignment directions and make sure students have completed all parts and that students have worked "long and strong" as opposed to doing the minimum required
Direct students to extension experiences provided by teachers, or via the following pages on this web page:
