An isolation room, separate from the nurses office has been established. Recommendations from the Department of Public Health will be utilized to determine criteria for when and how it will be utilized.
A building-based COVID-19 response team will be established to respond to suspected and confirmed cases of COVID-19 and be in regular communication with the district level response team. This will include the principal, nurse, teachers, and administrative assistants.
Containment Response Procedure:
Isolating any faculty, staff, or students who exhibit symptoms of COVID-19.
Dismissing individuals exhibiting signs and symptoms of COVID-19 from school, and notifying emergency contact.
Ensuring those individuals are safely and expeditiously removed from the building.
If those individuals are not able to be safely removed from the building, contacting emergency medical services and requesting an ambulance.
Documenting all areas of the building and individuals in the building where the individual exhibiting symptoms interacted.
Maintaining confidentiality, while also taking appropriate measures to notify contact tracers in the local department of health.
Communicating the situation to Chatham Health District officials, the district's health compliance liaison, and the superintendent.
Follow up with individuals who exhibited symptoms to determine time and conditions for re-admittance.
