Cleaning Procedures

Increased cleaning and sanitation schedules will be implemented.

The building will be disinfected at the end of each day, and high use areas will be sanitized at least one additional time during the day.

A deep cleaning will occur in between the two attendance cohorts being in the building.

Teachers will follow cleaning protocols of their workspace upon entering and exiting the classroom.

All students will be encouraged to wash their hands at multiple points throughout the day.

Students will be responsible to clean their work space both before and after use. After school activities and building use will be curtailed to facilitate cleaning.

Bathrooms and Fountains

Cohorts of students will be assigned to specific bathroom facilities. Hallway monitors will be utilized to ensure that students from different cohorts do not enter the bathroom at the same time. Restrooms will be cleaned more frequently.

Students and staff will be encouraged to utilize the “no-touch” bottle filler as needed. The water spouts will be disabled.

Facilities

Signage will be in place throughout the building and directionality indicated by floor markings where needed. 6 ft. markers will be in place to facilitate distance requirements. The Auditorium, Band and Choir rooms will be marked to allow for 12 ft distancing for performing ensembles

Classrooms

10 larger locations have been selected around the building to spread out student cohorts and maximize social distancing. Desks will be placed at least 10 feet apart from one another. The teacher will have a space over 10 feet from the first desk for instruction and a desk where they can sit and remove their mask due to increased social distance. All other furniture will be removed to maximize space within the room.

Lockers

Students will be encouraged to only bring materials for their 4 classes each day, and will keep their backpacks with them in class.

Visitors

Our goal is to limit the number of people in the building. Any materials that need to be dropped off will be labeled and left in an outside container when feasible. The office access will be restricted and visitors will interact with office staff through a window and/or plexiglass barrier. Students being picked up early or from the nurse will be walked out to meet the parent.
