Our academy was named after the historic John Lyon Park located on King Street in Port Chester. The Bush-Lyon Homestead is found on the park's property. The earliest part of this home was built in 1720 and served as headquarters for General Israel Putnam from 1777-1778. The Bush-Lyon Homestead was added to the prestigious National Register of Historic Places in 1982. We are honored to carry the name of one of Port Chester's finest landmarks.Â
