Sign-up for Track & Field 2019

Text Message Alerts for 2019 (link) or text remind.com/join/pctf19 - We need you to sign up each season as we do not carry over from previous years.

Winter Conditioning (3:00 to 4:00 each day) - Begins Monday, November 12

  • Sprinters & Jumpers - Meet in the Stable on M,W,F, meet in the weight room on T,Th.
  • Throwers - Weights 2-3 times per week. Speed drills 2-3 days per week. Follow sprints model.
  • Distance - Meet at the Mustang statue (run outside each day, so come prepared with layers of clothing, hat and gloves)

For those that want to be successful, your foundation is built in the winter. Winter conditioning will pave the way to success.

VOLUNTEERS needed (sign-up link): Parents, we will need your assistance with helping run field events and working the concession stand. Please use the sign-up link. Field event workers would need to arrive by 3:50. Concession stand workers, we will use your assistance any time that you can arrive.

Physicals, Pay-to-Participate & Code of Conduct

Code of conduct meetings are for students and parents that have not attended one of these in their high school career. This must be done in order to participate in extracurricular activities at PCHS. You only need to attend one of these meetings in your high school career. For more information.

  • Tuesday, March 20th @ 7:00 pm. Community Room.
  • Tuesday, March 27th @ 7:00 am. Community Room.
  • A student only needs to attend one code of conduct meeting during high school. It is requested that the student and a parent attend the meeting at the same time.

Track Meet Order of Events for 2019

Field events

  • Boys - discus, pole vault and long jump first. (Followed by boys discus, pole vault and long jump)
  • Girls - shot put and high jump. (Followed by girls shot put and high jump.)

Running events (girls running events go first in 2019)

  1. 4x800
  2. 110/100 hurdles
  3. 100 dash
  4. 4x200 relay
  5. 1600 run
  6. 4x100 relay
  7. 400 dash
  8. 300 hurdles
  9. 800 run
  10. 200 dash
  11. 3200 run
  12. 4x400 relay


2018 Additional Qualifying Standards

SMAC Championships = 3 entries per individual event, 1 relay team

MHSAA Regionals = 2 entries per event (no substitutions), 1 relay team

Qualifying for the MHSAA Finals - To qualify for the MHSAA Finals, an athlete must finish 1st or 2nd in the finals of an event. Additional athletes can qualify, if they achieve the State Finals AQ Standard. Qualifying for the state finals must be done with the performance in the event finals (not prelims) of the regional meet.
