Practice Schedule 2019

Time Schedule

  • 10:00 Field events
  • 12:00 Running prelims (100, 100/110H, 200)
  • 4x800 follows the prelims
  • Running finals are slated to begin 1hour after the completion of the 4x800.
  • 7:00 End of meet.


Volunteers - We need volunteers to help host our meet on Tuesday, April 23. Having parents help us allows the coaches to coach the athletes. We need adults to record, students can help with raking, crossbars, measuring, spotting, concessions.

Sign-up link

  • Long Jump: 6-8 people (2 recorders, 4 measuring, 2 raking) We will run 2 pits if possible.
  • High Jump: 3 people (1 recorder, 2 replacing the crossbar)
  • Discus: 4-5 people (1 recorder, 2 measuring, 2 spotting)
  • Shot Put: 4-5 people (1 recorder, 2 measuring, 2 spotting)
  • High Jump: 2-3 people (1 recorder, 2 replacing the bar)
  • Clerks: 2 people (help check in athletes and assign lanes and number stickers)
  • Finish Line: 2 people (assist with keeping finish line clear, results
  • Announcer: 1 person (announce event calls and results)
  • Concessions: 4 people (we will be selling beverages, candy, hot dogs, popcorn, students can help with this)
  • Field event workers would need to arrive by 3:50.
  • Clerks and finish line workers would need to arrive by 4:45.
  • Concession stand workers, we will use your assistance any time that you can arrive.
  • Driving to AWAY Meet - this form is to be used for parents that can help drive athletes to away meets.
  • Driving HOME from away meets - this form is to let us know that you will be driving your son or daughter home, or riding home with another parent. PLEASE USE THESE FORMS BY MONDAY 9:00 PM.


  • VOLUNTEERS needed (sign-up link): Parents, we will need your assistance with helping run field events and working the concession stand. Please use the sign-up link. Field event workers would need to arrive by 3:50. Concession stand workers, we will use your assistance any time that you can arrive.

Physicals, Pay-to-Participate & Code of Conduct

Code of conduct meetings are for students and parents that have not attended one of these in their high school career. This must be done in order to participate in extracurricular activities at PCHS. You only need to attend one of these meetings in your high school career. For more information.

  • Tuesday, March 19th @ 7:00 pm. Chambers Room (1140)
  • Tuesday, March 26th @ 7:00 am. Community Room.
  • A student only needs to attend one code of conduct meeting during high school. It is requested that the student and a parent attend the meeting at the same time.

Track Meet Order of Events for 2019

Field events

  • Boys - discus, pole vault and long jump first. (Followed by girls discus, pole vault and long jump)
  • Girls - shot put and high jump. (Followed by boys shot put and high jump.)

Running events (girls running events go first in 2019)

  1. 4x800 relay
  2. 110/100 m hurdles
  3. 100 m dash
  4. 4x200 m relay
  5. 1600 m run
  6. 4x100 m relay
  7. 400 m dash
  8. 300 m hurdles
  9. 800 m run
  10. 200 m dash
  11. 3200 m run
  12. 4x400 m relay


2019 Additional Qualifying Standards

SMAC Championships & MHSAA Regionals -

SMAC Championships = 3 entries per event, 1 relay team.

MHSAA Regionals = 2 entries per event, 1 relay team.

If a team has more athletes that acheive the additional qualifying standard (AQ), then all of those athletes may participate in that event.

Qualifying for the MHSAA Finals - To qualify for the MHSAA Finals, an athlete must finish 1st or 2nd in an event. Additional athletes can qualify if they achieve the State Finals AQ. Qualifying for the state finals must be done with performances in the event finals (not prelims) of the regional meet.
