Each student receives eight tickets to distribute to family/guests. Seating at Miller Auditorium is limited & every guest must have a ticket to enter. If not all tickets are needed, please bring extras to the counseling office.
Extra tickets are distributed to students/graduates only on a first come, first serve basis and only on the day of graduation. Students (not parents) may pick up, up to two extra tickets if they are available. Tickets must be picked up before 3pm on Graduation Day in the Main Office. (Students may also check with their friends for extra tickets if needed).
Graduation Rehearsal is MANDATORY for those participating in the Graduation Ceremony in the evening of May 19. Students will meet in Shaw Theatre at 9am sharp on TUESDAY, MAY 19. Students do not need to bring anything with them.
Students must arrive at Shaw Theatre by 6pm (this is next to Miller Auditorium). Be sure to leave early and plan for traffic and parking delays. All roads leading to Miller Auditorium are heavily traveled during this time and over 4000 people are coming to this ceremony.
When students arrive, they will pick up their name card in the lobby. They will need this very important card as the full name on that card will be read by staff for diploma distribution.
Students should arrive with their gown and all regalia - stole, tassel, medals, honor cords. There will NOT be extra to purchase or borrow the night of the ceremony. National Honor Society stoles can be picked up when you arrive at Shaw Theatre.
For the graduation ceremony, students need only a cap, gown, tassel and stole. Cap and Gowns will be distributed to students during lunches in May in the Upper Commons. More info to come.
Students may wear a cap and gown from a previous PNHS graduation provided it is in good condition, but will need to purchase a stole and tassel as they are year-specific.
If you miss ordering at school, orders can be placed online at Jostens.com. For all questions regarding camp and gowns, please contact our Jostens representative, James Ross, at james.ross@jostens.com or call 1-800-jostens (1-800-567-8367).
Tassels start on the right side of your graduation cap. At the end of the ceremony, you will be asked to move your tassel to the left side.
In keeping with the respect of this dignified ceremony, students are expected to dress appropriately. For men, this means dress slacks, dress shoes, collared shirt. For women this means dress shoes or dress sandals, dress, skirt or dress slacks. No jeans or shorts.
Miller Auditorium doors open for guests at 6:15pm with the ceremony starting at 7pm.
After the ceremony, graduates will return to Shaw Theatre to sign for their actual diploma and then go meet family and friends for hugs and photos.
