Meeting the Challenge of Remote Personal Tutoring

This session will discuss the challenges posed by remote personal tutoring to the tutee and personal tutor. We will discussion of issues faced by students starting/returning to University, good personal tutoring practice, what has not worked for tutors since lockdown, and provide direction for tutors for the new year.

Session Aims

• Understand the importance of effective personal tutoring in the new blended learning environment

• Discuss approach to group tutorials: Remotely / face to face

• Recognise the importance of online student community

• Identity what is effective 1-1 communication between tutor and tutee in a remote setting
