A shift to online delivery does not have to restrict opportunities for integrating creativity and play; in fact, it perhaps makes them even more important. It is therefore essential that the design of online learning, and the University's focus on active blended learning (ABL), models and provides opportunities for creativity and play. Learning activities need to trigger student creativity, and use appropriate blended approaches that urge students to be creative and, importantly, provide opportunities for students to demonstrate that creativity (Beghetto and Kanfman, 2013). The aims of this session is to help colleagues appreciate what ABL looks like when used innovatively to support creative practice. Underpinned by a modicum of pedagogic theory, the session will provide a number of 'recipe ideas' to demonstrate opportunities presented by software such as Padlet and H5P, amongst others, for synchronous and asynchronous delivery. There might even be a bit of Lego involved! The session will conclude with a Ready, Steady, Create - Creativity Challenge! If you need a creative solution then please bring details along and the presenters will try and provide some creative suggestions!
