Delivering a Degree Apprenticeship to the Army - Reflections on DL Provision

The session consists of two parts. The first part would be delivered by staff involved in teaching the DL programme to serving military personnel and will provide insights into some of the teaching challenges they have had to overcome in order ensure the success of this course.

The second part of the session would be a demonstration of some of the technical solutions that can be used in delivering a distance learning course, with reference to supporting pedagogical research. The second part of the session would also consist of some hands on, audience participation.

Session Aims

The aims of this session are to:

• An understanding of the teaching and technical challenges faced in delivering distance learning to serving military personnel.

• An understanding of pedagogical methodologies deployed to overcome the teaching challenges

• An insight into some of the tools used to deliver content to a highly diasporic student cohort operating in often difficult circumstances
