Experiential learning from simulated practice and assessment is a core part of professional development in our undergraduate nursing curriculum. In this session we will share the process of turning a face to face OSCE (Observed Structured Clinical Examination) of taking a health history and initial A to E assessment from a simulated patient into an E consult OSCE.
Sessions Aims
The aims of the session are to:
To identify the framework of the process, people and tools needed to support the rapid move of face to face OSCE’s to a remote video linked assessment process
To show how learning outcomes, marking criteria and assessment were linked in the video linked consult when taking a health history and A to E assessment
To identify the role and importance of simulated patients in assessment consistency
