Maximising Your iPad and Tablet for Distance Learning

The iPad and Apple Pencil afford a new dimension to learning which has notably come to the fore during the CoVid19 crisis and the transition to online delivery. This session is designed to showcase some of the opportunities the iPad affords for staff and students, and how it can be creatively used to underpin online delivery. The session will introduce specific apps to support learning and teaching, how to transform your iPad into a recording device, and how to best to utilise the iPAD with Webex and Zoom, through the use of whiteboard apps. It will be a very practical session specifically designed for those colleagues who have yet to fully unlock the potential of their iPad, especially if they are running the latest version of Mac OS (Catalina). While primarily focused on the iPad guidance will also be offered for other tablets.

Session Aims

The aims of this session are to:

• Introduce a range of apps that can be used to enhance learning and teaching

• Demonstrate the practical aspects of utilising your iPad as a recording device

• Maximise the use of your iPad with Webex and Zoom

• Setup and use Sidecar in the latest version of MacOS (Catalina) so you can use your iPad as a second screen and effectively creating a graphics tablet
