Kia Ora Parents and Whānau,

We will be hosting an exciting Wonder-thon fundraiser. Last year's general knowledge Know-a-thon was such a success that we are bringing this fundraiser back with a twist. This year we are asking our students to share and submit any wonders about the world that they have. We are giving them two weeks to submit their wonders either by recording them onto one of the paper slips provided and placing them into the Wonder-thon boxes found outside the school office or alternatively by clicking here to submit their wonders via this Google Form. These wonders that the students submit will form the questions in the Wonder-thon this year.

On Monday the 23rd of September (the last week of Term 3) we will be sending home a Wonder-thon pack with your child/children. Inside the pack will be a sponsorship form and information about the fundraiser. 

The children will have 1 month to research and learn the answers to their assigned questions. The goal for each student is to get as many people to sponsor them as possible. The sponsor will need to decide how much money they will sponsor for each correct answer. Each year group has a set of questions to answer. Please see below the total amount of questions for each year level to research and learn:

Year 1 and 2 children have 20 questions to research and learn.

Year 3 and 4 children have 40 questions to research and  learn.

Year 5 and 6 children have 60 questions to research and learn.

Money should not be collected until after the big ‘test’ which will take place on Friday the 25th of October, week 2, Term 4 (some classes may sit this earlier during this week depending on class timetables). After the test students will contact their sponsors to collect the money. 

     Sponsorship money can be paid to the school in one of 3 different ways:

• Deposited into the school ASB bank account: 12-3019-0472255-00, please enter your child's name, room number and the key word WT (short for Wonder-thon) in the reference section for this payment.

• Paying with eftpos at the school office or bringing in cash directly to the school office and placing it in the Wonder-thon box inside the zip lock bag provided.

• You can also make a combination of online/eftpos and cash payments.

Students will need to return their sponsorship form inside their zip lock bag (which will be recycled for future events) in order to be entered into the draw to win some of the amazing prizes. The final date to hand in Wonder-thon sponsorship forms and pay sponsorship money is Friday the 22nd of November (Week 6, term 4).
