WELCOME TO CHEMICAL ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT, G P GANDHINAGAR

Welcome to the Department of Chemical Engineering at G P Gandhinagar. We started our journey in the year of 2007. Over the last decade, we have grown our expertise and competence in the core Chemical Engineering curriculum.

We have a strong diploma program in Chemical engineering, affiliated with GTU. Hence. we follow GTU guidelines and course framework but we have our own Vision and Mission which helps us to strategically plan an all round framework for overall development of students. We are striving to balance parent interests, government interests and the interest of the society as a whole.

Our primary focus is to impart technical know-how to students, promote their problem solving skills and innovation of new technologies and make them a great workforce for industries. The course contents are periodically updated by GTU for introducing new scientific and technological developments. Diploma students are encouraged to undertake various projects in their final semester.

We have state of the art laboratory facilities to support our academic program.

Our department has a distinguished record in teaching. Faculty members have excellent academic credentials and are highly regarded. We can also proudly say that our department is NBA Accreditated .

M1: To provide the fundamental knowledge of chemical engineering and operation ability through outcome based chemical engineering education.

M2: To provide opportunities to student to find out inherent interpersonal skills and high moral values through extracurricular and co-curricular activities.

M3: To provide opportunities to students for institute industry interaction through different initiatives.

Pogram Outcomes (POs) :

PO1:- Basic and Discipline specific knowledge: Apply knowledge of basic mathematics, science and engineering fundamentals and engineering specialization to solve the engineering problems.

PO2:- Problem analysis: Identify and analyze well-defined engineering problems using codified standard methods.

PO3:- Design/ development of solutions: Design solutions for well-defined technical problems and assist with the design of systems components or processes to meet specified needs.

PO4:- Engineering Tools, Experimentation and Testing: Apply modern engineering tools and appropriate technique to conduct standard tests and measurements.

PO5:- Engineering practices for society, sustainability and environment: Apply appropriate technology in context of society, sustainability, environment and ethical practices.

PO6:- Project Management: Use engineering management principles individually, as a team member or a leader to manage projects and effectively communicate about well-defined engineering activities.

Chemical Engineering program aims to develop competent diploma chemical engineering professionals who will be able to work ethically to serve social needs in the area of chemical engineering. PEOs are broad statements that describe the career and professional accomplishments in five years after graduation that the program is preparing graduates to achieve. The Program Educational Objectives of Chemical Engineering program is as follows:

Diploma chemical engineer will be able to:

PEO-1: Apply operational skills, laboratory skills, analytical skills and critical thinking by the use of fundamental knowledge of science & engineering.

PEO-2: Demonstrate the high level of interpersonal skills and high moral values in working environment.

PEO-3: Demonstrate responsibility towards environmental, safety and social aspect.

Program Specific Outcome (PSOs):

PSO1: An ability to operate Chemical Process considering economical, environmental, health, safety and sustainability aspects.

PSO2: Be able to conduct lab experiment, analyze and communicate the results effectively.
