Welcome to science in the science room. Students have been introduced to “The Scientist Cycle” which involves wonder, discover, and care - not necessarily in that order! During Specimen Share, kindergartners have been practicing key science skills: asking, observing, classifying, and communicating. Meanwhile, we are immersed in a unit called “Senses as Superpowers.” In this unit, students discover how each of our senses works with our brain to interpret the world around us. They are also discovering new ways to engage a sense, including: using a magnifying glass, recognizing birdsongs, reading by touch (braille), and drawing what we smell. Stay tuned for our upcoming exploration of our sense of taste!
